Jochtal, our local ski area is literally right on our doorstep and together with the Gitschberg mountain offers 51 kilometres of superbly prepared slopes and après-ski fun. The modern cable car link takes you from one ski area to another. Speaking of modern: the country's most modern ski area, Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, is also just 20 kilometres away. The Gardena/Gröden, Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm and Alta Pusteria/Hochpustertal ski areas are roughly an hour away.

Cross-country skiing

Is cross-country skiing simply an essential part of a winter holiday in South Tyrol for you? Then look forward to your winter holiday in the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region! Glide through snowy forests and glistening snow scenes at various levels of difficulty: in Valles/Vals there is an 8 km long circular trail for beginners and a 12 km long trail for the more experienced. Other trails in the vicinity are located in the Valle d'Altafossa/Altfasstal near Maranza/Meransen or on the Rodengo/Rodeneck mountain pasture. The trails are alwaysclassic or skater tracks

Snowshoe and winter hikes

Whether you're sporty or not: the hiking trails around Valles/Vals give you the chance to savour winter at your own pace. The snowshoe's large tread surface does not sink into the snow much, making it possible to hike even longer distances saving your energy. The cleared trails are ideal for winter walks through snow-covered scenery. We recommend a leisurely hike to Malga Fane/Fane-Alm or a snowshoe tour to the Astjoch with stunning views of the Dolomite peaks.
